The music is fresh though not lived up to the comparison of the original ‘Aashiqui’ which had superb love-mad scores. The hook and melody of the 2004 original is so strong and authentically dhol dominated fast-paced Punjabi number that one just can’t go wrong using the main bits of it. How they both let love take them over then shapes the story. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui Title Track is an easy success as it would be a hit even without listening to the song. But, i will recommend you to watch it for Aditya Roy Kapurs brilliant performance. (My Word) Aashiqui 2 is an hardcore romance, which can impress to the classes but can be failed to entertain masses, because of lack of good story line. Aarohi climbs the ladder of success but is not very happy about it as he gets left behind. Aashiqui 2 is looking like a documentry on Alchohal. RJ gets into brawls and fights everywhere he goes and thereby loses on work. Well, he succeeds in doing so but realizes that he has actually lost himself somewhere in the process. This young beautiful girl Aarohi Keshav Shirke (Shraddha Kapoor) comes accidently into his life and he falls in love and takes a vow to make her a big singing star.

The huge task of coming up to the mark has marred the movie though.ĭirected by Mohit Suri, the story revolves around singer Rahul Jaykar or RJ (Aditya Roy Kapur) who is at the peak of his career but is not able to handle the fame and so he drowns into alcohol. Things would have been different if it had to only fulfil large expectations of the original ‘Aashiqui’ (1990). The lead couple has a moment or two, but doesn't spark overall.Despite all the talk around, many have liked the movie. Kapoor also does a tad better than her earlier outings, but is patchy. Roy Kapoor shows he has mettle: I was wondering about that after his turns in Action Replayy and Guzaarish, bad films both, but his potential is clear in this one. And the best part of this film is these two trying out each other for size, despite an embarrassing meet-cute.

Aarohi Shirke (Shraddha Kapoor) is a girl who worships Lata Mangeshkar and wants to be a singer. Rahul Jaykar (Aditya Roy Kapur) is a singer fighting his demons, with the help of good pal (Shaad Randhawa). And this, along with a story that starts with some lift and then dips makes the new film a messy meander. No single song of the new Aashiqui leaps out at you. But this time around, it is not as distinctive, and that's because the Bhatts may have become victims of their own created template of sufi-soft-pop-cum-rock. Aashiqui 2 is just decent by today’s standard let alone any other eras but if you can overlook that there's still plenty to enjoy here particularly the multiple versions of 'Tum Hi Ho' and 'Sunn Raha Hai'.
